Throughout elementary, middle and high school, Azuma performed in countless theater productions. The experiences lead to receiving a four-year performing arts scholarship to San Francisco State University as a television and broadcasting major. Unfortunately, she was forced to forfeit the scholarship due to scheduling conflicts between a required college summer program and two full time jobs to support herself.
