Azuma Race sparked her passion for the performing arts at the early age of three when she climbed on stage and interrupted a community theater performance. She has creatively and relentlessly pursued those dreams ever since.

Throughout elementary, middle and high school, Azuma performed in countless theater productions. The experiences lead to receiving a four-year performing arts scholarship to San Francisco State University as a television and broadcasting major. Unfortunately, she was forced to forfeit the scholarship due to scheduling conflicts between a required college summer program and two full time jobs to support herself. Disappointed but not discouraged, Azuma stayed focused and continued to pursue acting.

As a proud San Francisco Bay Area native, Azuma has been featured in more than 25 commercials. Her credits include: Site for Sore Eyes, Ford Dealerships, and China's famous House of Chocolates. She also holds a title of "Miss Tomodachi" in the San Francisco Cherry Blossom Pageant and has various modeling experience such as petite runway, hair shows and Shiseido make up. In January 2009, Azuma won a position as a morning host on San Francisco's KOFY TV 20. Most recently, Azuma was a guest speaker at Laney College in Oakland, California to address photography as it relates to the industry from a model's perspective.

Azuma's passion for the youth inspired her to accept a position to develop and direct a youth program in Oakland. Azuma designed the program to emphasize the importance of positivity and perseverance in oneself and in the community. That dedication also led to a character role as "Detective Data" in a University of California at Berkeley educational video for youth interested in forensic science. U.C. Berkeley also featured her as the face of the main character "Itiba" in the Children's Science Discovery Theater Native American Production.

On a personal level, Azuma is an avid sports fan and athletic. Although she enjoys many sports, her heart belongs to baseball. Her favorite MLB team is the San Francisco Giants. In addition, Azuma is a talented Salsa dancer and was a member of San Francisco based Brazilian percussion performing group Fogo Na Roupa.

Azuma is virtually fluent in Japanese and familiar with Spanish.
